We are seeking an experienced and motivated Shop Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our fleet maintenance shop. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and hands-on experience working with diesel engines and heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

Our fleet consists primarily of intermodal chassis and diesel day-cab tractors, making diesel mechanical experience and knowledge of heavy-duty fleet maintenance essential for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily operations of the fleet maintenance shop.
• Lead, train, schedule, and supervise shop technicians and employees.
• Diagnose and oversee repairs and preventive maintenance on diesel day-cab tractors and intermodal chassis.
• Coordinate routine maintenance, inspections, repairs, and emergency service needs.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained in a safe, reliable, and road-ready condition.
• Monitor shop workflow, technician productivity, repair quality, and turnaround times.
• Manage parts, inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation.
• Schedule preventive maintenance and track upcoming service requirements.
• Work with drivers and operations personnel to identify and address equipment issues.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT requirements, and applicable safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
• Help control maintenance costs while maintaining high standards for safety and reliability.

Qualifications:

• Previous diesel engine and heavy-duty truck maintenance experience required.
• Prior experience managing or supervising a fleet maintenance shop or repair operation strongly preferred.
• Experience with diesel day-cab tractors and intermodal chassis highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, drivetrain systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and other heavy-duty vehicle components.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and effectively communicate repair needs to technicians and management.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple repair and maintenance needs in a fast-paced environment.
• CDL experience or a Class A CDL is a plus.
• ASE or other relevant diesel/heavy-duty certifications are a plus.

Position Summary:

The 2nd Shift Check-In Clerk is responsible for monitoring and processing all container movements entering and exiting the yard. This position serves as a key point of contact for truck drivers and ensures accurate documentation, container inspections, and compliance with yard operating procedures. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced transportation and logistics environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct visual inspections of containers entering and leaving the yard.
• Check containers for visible damage, safety concerns, and identification accuracy.
• Record all inbound container information into the company’s computer management system.
• Verify container numbers, equipment status, and customer information.
• Ensure all required documentation and system records are complete before allowing equipment to enter the yard.
• Confirm containers are cleared for release prior to authorizing departure from the facility.
• Communicate with drivers regarding check-in/check-out procedures and documentation requirements.
• Maintain accurate electronic records of all container movements.
• Report damaged containers, equipment discrepancies, or operational issues to management.
• Coordinate with yard personnel, dispatchers, and customer service representatives as needed.
• Follow all company safety policies and security procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous transportation, logistics, container terminal, warehouse, or gate operations experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter data into management systems.

The Trailer/Chassis Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining semi-trailers, intermodal chassis, and related equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role requires proficiency in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and structural repair systems while adhering to company safety standards and federal regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on trailers and chassis.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and air brake systems.
• Inspect, repair, and replace suspension components, wheel seals, bearings, hubs, and landing gear.
• Conduct welding and fabrication repairs on trailer frames, chassis structures, and body components.
• Repair and replace lights, wiring harnesses, ABS systems, and electrical components.
• Inspect tires, wheels, and brake systems for wear and compliance.
• Perform DOT and FMCSA-compliant inspections and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair doors, locks, and other trailer accessories.
• Complete maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders accurately.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Respond to road service calls or emergency repairs as needed.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Technical training in diesel, trailer, or heavy equipment repair preferred.
• Previous experience as a trailer mechanic, chassis mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment technician preferred.
• Knowledge of air brake systems, suspension systems, electrical diagnostics, and welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, schematics, and work orders.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate shop equipment, hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding machinery.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as bucket loaders, lift machinery, forklifts, tractors, industrial equipment, power tools and city tractors.
• Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure proper fit and function.
• Replace or repair shocks & struts, brake systems, wheel alignments, tires, and other critical components to maintain safety standards.
• Utilize heavy lifting techniques and equipment repair skills to service large machinery efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
• Interpret schematics and technical manuals to execute precise repairs on Caterpillar equipment or similar machinery.
• Maintain detailed service records and logs of all repairs performed for accountability and future reference.

Requirements

• Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, air brakes, HVAC systems, suspension components, and alignment procedures.
• Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to read schematics accurately and troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues efficiently.
• Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes (including service technician roles), forklifts, or farm machinery is advantageous.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members.
